Finger style guitar for the young beginner

This 55 minute class, taken without a parent/caregiver, introduces students to the basics of music, rhythm, note reading in treble clef, ear training, and ensemble playing using the finger style technique.

Simply put, finger style guitar is the best way to learn how to play guitar. This approach teaches the foundation of note reading to make the student a complete musician.

While it is not mandatory to remain in the group program for a long time, most group classes tend to stay together for many years. Part of this is due to the fact that classes are continuing, therefore, a student cannot pause his lessons and rejoin the same class a few months later.

Styles will soon then continue into rock, blues, jazz and more. They will learn theory concepts such as keys, circle of fifths, harmony, and chords.

Please consult our instructor before purchasing a guitar. It is important to have the correct size guitar for the student to be successful. Materials include a stand, a foot stool and books.

If you are interested in the group program but are unavailable during our scheduled times, please contact the office. If enough families can come to a different time, we will try to open up another class.
